This pair of earrings is handmade from Lapis Lazuli. These are beautiful quality stones in a round ball shapes. Each earring has 2 lapis gem balls 8mm in online size,1 pink opal 5mm and 2 pearls .. 7mm and 4 mm. . The earrings are 2.25 inches long. The earring is sterling silver plated with 14k gold.
In ancient times Lapis Lazuli was most highly regarded because of its beautiful color and the valuable ultramarine dye and paint color derived from it. Its name comes from the Latin lapis, "stone," and the Persian lazhuward, "blue." It is a symbol of wisdom and truth.
The earrings are part of a suite of modern Lapis Lazuli designs. I also made a lapis necklace, lapis gem ball ring and drop earrings.
The suite is very contemporary, elegant and fun, all at the same time.
