Vintage Cast Iron Bookends with red, white and blue shield, 13 stars and a green base
The eagles are perched on a rock with wings spread out and arched over the head with a ribbon held in the beak, a shield on the chest and laurel leaf and arrows in the claws
Inscription on the ribbon on online the bookend is the inscription "E Pluribus Unum" which means out of many one
They are most likely made by Hubley Manufacturing Co. in the 1910's or 1920's
There is a stamp on the back and a number 665
Each Measures: 7.25" tall x 5.25" wide x 1.75" deep
They are quite heavy. The total weight is 4 lbs. 1 oz
Each one has a different weight. One weighs 2 lbs 5 ozs, the other one weighs 1 lb 15.6 ozs.
