About the artwork: This painting is a celebration of the silken weaves of Benarasi Sarees and the wondrous beauty of the quintessential Maharashtrian Nath (Nose-ring).

Benarasi, with an intricate intertwining of floral and foliate motifs boasts of a rich history, starting in the 17th century and being a symbol of grandeur and opulence since then.

A Maharashtrian nose-ring is a unique and beautiful arrangement of pearls and jewels. Also known as one of the oldest jewellery in India, its distinctive shape makes it a standout piece of elegance.
