Fully handcrafted from Italian vegetable tanned, refillable leather journal cover with elastic band closure and elastic band inside to hold an A5 notebook. The notebook can be easily replaced with a new one when needed.
Vegetable tanning is traditional and the most environmentally friendly process of leather production that uses only naturally derived tannins in the process, as opposed to most commercially produced chrome leather that uses harmful chemicals.
I make these notebook covers entirely by hand in my Dublin workshop using traditional leatherwork techniques:
The leather is cut by hand The edges of the leather are finished by hand burnishing with a wooden tool and burnishing cream. I don't use any machines to make my bags.
This notebook cover can be personalised by embossing. Please select your text (up to 12 characters including spaces ) Personalisation would be placed in top right corner on the front of the cover. If you would like different location, please let me know.

Please Note:
The leather is a natural material and surface marks or slight changes in colour in texture are normal and common occurrence. Please note also that vegetable tanned leather darkens and softens overtime gaining unique character -this is called patina.
