Switzerland: Heinrich Siegfried Aquatinted online Etching. Hand Colored by Master Swiss Printmaker Rudolph Dinkenman

Aquatinted Etching done by Swiss Artist Heinrich Siegfried (1793-1885) and hand colored by Master Swiss Printmaker Rudolf Dikenman (1814-1889). It features a great Swiss Engineering feat in the creation of the Splugen Road in Viamala Gorge Switzerland completed in 1821. The etching was done around 1850 and mounted onto a Lithographed paper underlay. The Etching itself is in excellent condition but the original paper under layer has yellowed with time.

The piece was reframed online and sold in Zurich Galley Horgan in the 1950's and purchased by me from an Estate in 2019.
