Introducing a one of a kind fairy art doll, made from unique and unusual materials. This art doll is a mixed media doll with materials such as angelina fibres,bamboo fibres and hand dyed wool roving amongst others being used to create a truly ethereal figure.
The art doll represents a fairy who collects dreams and wishes , in the form of the flying balls , caught in her fishing net . So she can make those wishes come true !
Made in the style of a stump doll , she is weighted at the base with glass floristry beads ( in a fabric bag) , the main body is a mixture of hand painted cotton fabric and handmade fabric consisting of a tulle overlay on bamboo fibres , wool roving and hand dyed cotton fabric. This is covered by free style machine embroidery to keep the layers together. A further manipulated stitched tulle layer is added over the top with hand stitching. It is decorated with handmade fabric flowers.
Her face is hand painted with fabric paint and her eyes are hand painted wooden beads. The hair is made from grey textured wool and hand stitched in place. On the head is a handmade floral crown, made from beaded felt flowers and free style machine embroidery.
The wish balls are made of machine embroidered paper filled with angelina fibres and has a wire stalk with paper leaves. The fishing net is made from a re-purposed paint brush handle and a wired hand crocheted net.
The wings are wired angelina fibres that have been formed into a sheet and then shaped into wings .
