The gorgeous lines on this vintage heat lamp make it a great decor piece - it looks like a beautiful copper flower to me! The heavy metal base has an scalloped design, and the heater body tilts to any angle via the wood handle at the top. The wire 'guards' are copper and fan out in a floral pattern from the center heating element, which is wire wrapped porcelain.
It is a very solid piece, weighing over 5 lbs. Nice vintage condition, with some rusty spots. The last photo show the beautiful patina the copper has taken on over the years.One of the wire guards on the front needs to be rebent to hook on to the frame, as seen in the first photo online. The scalloped base has a chip missing out of one portion. Please see photo 4.
Piece is marked 'Universal, Landers, Frary & Clark, New Britain, Conn., U.S.A.' I was told (at the auction where I purchased it) that this works with the included cord, but I do not want to risk testing something this old, and I recommend that you get it rewired if you plan to use it.
