Oh this book…. Fantastic historical weekly events and religious observations and a slice of life in the early years of the civil war. But not just a history book about the times, these pages were written DURING online those times. War battles, prisoners exchanged, ships sunk, runaway slaves; foreign affairs, dr Livingston's exploration of Africa and detailed descriptions of the natives with their body art and jewelry as he was the first European to see these strange humans; there are want ads, marriages, deaths, asylums for the insane ads; published weekly there are 2 years worth in this bound volume. Paper covered leather covers are literally hanging on by a thread and couple front blank pages are loose, the rest are intact but many have spotting and moisture discoloration. But all is readable…. Tiny print, probably need your reader glasses.
Over 2” thick 1000s of pages. 11.5 x 9”. Great collectible 160 yr old book. Everywhere you look there's something interesting.
