Vintage Knights Templar online Medal- Baltimore Knights Templar Masonic Pin - Victorian Fraternal Order Memorabilia
This metal pin measures 4.75 inches in length and 2 inches at its widest. The pin consists of 4 individual pins connected by brass chain. The top pin reads "Monumental", the second part reads "Commandery", the third part reads "No. 3 - K - T - Baltimore - In Hoc Signo Vinces" and the bottom part exhibits the image of a skull and crossbones. The design depicts a red cross and crown which is often the symbols for the Masonic Templar Knights. The skull and crossbones was a symbol used by the knight - adopted during some of the crusades. The stories of why is all over the place - some link it to Sidon, some to pirates, etc. This piece looks to be Victorian in age and might possibly be made of brass- although it is not marked as such. The cross is red and upon close inspection one can see that it is enameled. There are some surface scratches observed. There are a few online areas of patina/grime/discoloration - I did not attempt any type of cleaning (I did not want to damage it). Please look closely at the pictures.
