Product code: Blondes online #12227 Trail of Painted Ponies

Blondes #12227 is one of the earlier figurines from the Trail of Painted Ponies collection, and is made of ceramics rather than resin. Designed by David DeVary and made by Westland in the early 2000s, it was formally retired in January of 2010. The figurine itself measures approximately 6" tall, 7" long and 2 3/8" wide. The base is 5 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide.

DeVary is one of an emerging group of so-called "New West" artists who celebrate the myths of the American West. His oil and gold-leaf paintings, boldly colored and dramatically toplit, present contemporary cowboys and cowgirls in the guise of romanticized American icons. Posed like glamorous fashion models on the sides of a beautiful Palomino, their eyes shadowed by a low-tipped cowboy hat, the women on this 9ony intentionally glorify the freedom and self-confidence we associate with "the cowgirl."

This particular pony is number 1,644 from the 1st edition. It comes with the original box, tag and packaging. The box was opened upon receipt to ensure everything was in order online and undamaged, but has been stored in a closet in a non-smoking household ever since.
