This is an amazing 1940's (possibly early 1950's) toy table top jigsaw that actually works and cuts wood! I don't know if the most amazing thing is that it is made for a child and works, or that there are NO warning labels on it! I guess children were expected to have more common sense then.

It has lots of litho graphics, in very good and colorful condition, as would be expected for a child's toy.

Now, I wouldn't plan on cutting up 2"x4"s with this toy, but I think it would make short work of smaller pieces of wood -- I'm thinking fir quarter rounds or something of that nature. :) The blade (with teeth) makes small up and down motions, just like a regular jig saw, but the motion is more limited in the up and down directions. The lithographic images show pictures of things like birdhouses, magazine racks, online etc. so it is obvious it was meant to be used for small wood crafting projects. I tested it just before listing it and it does work!

I have had this a LONG time because it has been such a great conversation piece over the years, with respect to NO warning labels and an electric motorized toy that will cut wood being marketed for children. But time has come to let someone else enjoy it.

It measures 14 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 7". The 14 1/2" measurement includes the arm that holds the jig saw blade.
