Louis Koteles, Dallas Artist, Hand-Signed “Spider Mum” 1981 Original Lithograph, Framed online by Eddins Galleries, Dallas, Texas

This is a pretty floral lithographic print by Louis Koteles.  Koteles was a Dallas-based artist born in 1922 who passed away in 2002. He was originally a graphic artist in the mid-20th Century before online shifting his focus to watercolors. Plants and flowers were by far his favorite subject. Neiman Marcus Department Store in Dallas actually commissioned him in the late 1970s to create four limited edition prints of spring flowers (which I don't believe were hand signed.) This piece is not from that commission. This seems to be a hand-signed hand pulled print.  The printing of the title and signature on the bottom are, I The Print Name and Signature appear to be handwritten, so we think it was likely a piece sold through a local spot, like Eddins Galleries in Dallas, where it was framed, or possibly one of the shows Koteles did, rather than through the Neiman Marcus store. It's a beautiful piece of work, and cheerful!
