As a career academic, I have a fondness for tweed. That's part of what inspires me to make TWEEDIES from upcycled wool garments. I love men's wool coats, but they look funny on me, so instead I rescue them from thrift stores, cut them into pieces, and give them new life--and keep them out of landfills. Each TWEEDY is unique and named for bird species I see in my yard in Georgia (because get it? "tweety").
The Red Belly is a standard sized tote -- large enough to carry your laptop, a layer of hand knits because the mornings are cool and the afternoons are warm, a knitting project just in case, plus a few smaller Tweedies containing all your stuff. That's how I fill my own tote! It has three pockets on the outside and one more on the inside, because POCKETS.
The sides, straps, and accents online are made from a Turkish tent divider given to me by a world traveling textile collector. A Turkish tent divider, y'all! The inside is raw silk from an estate sale. I love this one!
