Shamanic Rattle
The head is Elk rawhide and the handle a Elk leg bone. There are regular gravel stones inside. I painted this one black and white to reflect the duplicity of man and added feathers on the other side. The rattle is 12" long.
Although most call them shamanic rattles, rattles are a tool used by many cultures as I believe that all humans were tribal at one time. They are used to call in spirit and/or to break up energy. They can be used in your journey time, meditations, and ceremonies. How they are used and what they lend to your ceremony depends on the materials used.
Each of my rattles are hand stitched from animal rawhide. All of my work is one-of-a-kind orignals.
You do want to be protective of this sound tool. Because although it has a protective coat on it, it is rawhide, it may collapse if it has gotten wet. online
