These are two vintage spherical compacts made c. 1950s.
The first is a Pygmalion no. 1960 compact from England. It is all gold-tone metal intricately engraved with geometric and floral designs. It has a push clasp opening to reveal a plastic powder base with "Pygmalion no. 1960 Made in England" stamped inside. The lid is a circular mirror. It is in excellent condition with only minor scuffing consistent with age. The mirror has several small spots of tarnish but is unclouded. The clasp and hinges work beautifully.
The second is designed to look like a brass 8 ball. The original black enamel has almost completely worn away online (with only some remaining around clasp and hinges) leaving smooth brass behind. The white enamel "8" on the top is still distinct though also worn. It also has a push clasp, plastic interior and circular mirrored lid and also comes with the original pink powder puff. The brass is in good condition with some markings consistent with age. The mirror is slightly scuffed with clouding around the edges and few marks of tarnish. The clasp and hinges work perfectly.
Both measure approx. 2.5" from bottom to top and side to side. Interior mirrors have a diameter of approx. 1.75".
