Ibex online Shak Men's XL 100% Merino Full-Zip Jacket, Double-Knit Ponte

Gorgeous men's Ibex Shak full-zip jacket in a luscious double-knit merino ponte. Minor repairs, noted below, are not visible.

Bombproof ponte is soft, cozy and breathable. This is a medium-to-heavy 100% merino wool. The colors are a heathered blend of brown and grey. Not one or the other. Rich and warm, but neutral.

I purchased this jacket second-hand with moth holes as a repair project. It has been lightly used and there are no signs of wear such as stains, snag, abrasions, fraying, etc.

As a seamstress, I collect lightly damaged Ibex to restore to a long life. I only select pieces that I believe will endure, and are worth my time and your money. The original Ibexes tend to wear beautifully, look gorgeous, and remain comfortable in most temperatures for years. They are worth keeping in good repair.

My repairs here include:

*Two small 3/8" moth holes on the back lower right, which went through both layers of fabric.

*About eight tiny moth holes on the lower front left, affecting mostly the inside layer. A tiny nick on the inside of the right sleeve.

The last two photos highlight the inside view of the mends; in the last photo, the garment is held up to light to show how the holes have been closed. Images of the front indicate that the mends do not stand out on the surface.

All repairs were hand-stitched in a reweaving pattern to preserve stretch and prevent raveling. (The mends are slightly larger than the holes because they are woven in with surrounding fabric.) Three hours with a tiny needle and magnifying glass. It was a pleasure to restore such gorgeous material.

Thanks to the durable double-knit fabric, these mends are virtually invisible on the surface. They should stand up to regular use and abuse. (Though I wouldn't advise playing tug-of-war with your pit bull.)

A tan logo is stitched on the right sleeve, showing a crane in water and "2017" underneath. The embroidery could probably be ripped out, as there's a patch on the reverse. But I think the logo is lovely and not worth the time and risk of removing it. Maybe invent a story about getting it from a worthy conservationist group where you volunteered to dredge marshes and save birds.

Easy care. Can be machine washed on cold (I use a mesh bag), air dry.

I always store my woolens clean, with a small amount of mothballs in a couple of ziplock bags scattered through.
