This is the closed spoke or "embossed pilot" variation of the tried and true Marx 999. Most of these have a smooth pilot or "cow catcher". The smooth pilot has less detail, but easier to make from a manufacturing standpoint. Marx soon dropped the embossed pilot, thus making this version a rarity.
