Here's an artist to keep you guessing; the innovative Deantoni Parks. This one was drawn from a Technoself gig he online played in Atlanta with O-Rod. The conversations between those two must be incredible. I swallowed the old adage; live in the moment, hook, line and sinker. I got stuck in it. It's a struggle, these days, to think beyond the moment. I never liked "what if" considerations unless it was a bored young woman presenting me some absurd dichotomy for our comedic benefit, but when I listen to Deantoni Parks I get glimmers of a future. As an artist he takes us, for a glimmering moment, beyond the present. Considering all of the old books I've read; the majority being pre-1950s publications, I get a welcome kick out of Parks and his art. Anybody willing to turn down an offer to join Mars Volta has got to be onto something. I didn't bother drawing his fingers in here because that's the way the music was feeling.
