Bound in a blue cloth with pictorial inlay on the upper cover and elaborate gilt lettering and decoration on the upper cover and spine. Top edge gilt. Twenty colour illustrations and numerous line drawings by Gordon Browne.
The boards are in good condition with some light rubbing/bumping to online the corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The contents are slightly age toned with a little spotting to the preliminaries and endpapers. Otherwise nothing to note.
Originally published in 1861, this tale of the conflict between loyalty to church and family, is here beautifully illustrated by Gordon Browne, son of Hablot Brown [Phiz] who illustrated many of Dickens's novels.
This book weighs 925g without packaging and measures approx 21cm x 16cm.
Overall an extremely attractive and collectable book.
