Vintage dress and jacket, cocktail dress with online jacket (B527), blue brocade fitted dress and jacket

How elegant and glamorous is this two piece set?! It's made of satiny, fairly stiff brocade in the most beautiful shade of blue, with the small rose flower and leaf pattern in the same blue but with a sheen. The short jacket has a wide shawl style collar, three-quarter length sleeves and a very fitted wide waistband that fastens with three cloth covered buttons and a snap. The sleeveless dress has a square neckline with a bow and two buttons at the neck. It is very fitted throughout the bust and waist and has a full skirt. There's a zipper and hook and eye closure at the back. The dress has been altered at some point - see photo of shoulder straps - but could be changed back to the original. There are some signs of online wear, but given the age of this set, it's in very good vintage condition, and certainly very wearable. The jacket's measurements, taken with the jacket lying flat, are: shoulder to shoulder, 18 inches; armpit to armpit, 19 inches; waist, 14 inches; sleeves, 14 inches; length, 18 inches; bottom edge, 14 inches. The measurements of the dress, taken with the dress lying flat, are: shoulder to shoulder, 13 1/2 inches; armpit to armpit, 16 1/2 inches; waist, 14 inches; length (from top of shoulder strap), 38 inches; bottom edge, 50 inches.
