A scintillating colour-change Garnet gemstone from Tanzania.

In household LED illumination the gem is a honey-yellow colour (images 1 to 3), while in daylight it appears a smoky yellow-brown colour (images 4 to 6).
When exposed to incandescent illumination (images 7 and 8) it changes colour dramatically online to a bright pinkish-red.

These highly collectible Garnets are members of the Pyrope-Spessartine series and are examples of very few gems which exhibit a distinct colour change effect.
