A black onyx cabochon is the centerpiece of this hand crafted wire wrapped wooden crescent moon necklace. The piece is for any lunar admirer or moon child out there. The necklace features a red stained wooden crescent moon which evokes that moment one type of lunar eclipse coats the moon in blood red, a mix of gold and silver Parawire (non tarnish coated copper wire), chips of black jasper and coral accompany brass drops and a silver plated gold toned moon charm. The silver plated tubes at the top that act as bails and you do receive the black wire cord strung through as shown. It has a screw back closure and is 17.5 inches online long. This cord can be removed if you want to use your own chain/cord/metal. The bails are wide enough to allow for a wide range of options. The mix of metals means you can wear other silver OR gold accessories with this. Either will work.

The wooden crescent moon is drilled where necessary, sanded, and stained with layers of red wash to get that rich ruby red, and then put through a treatment process that involves protective layers of hypoallergenic shellac followed by layers of semi gloss and glossy spar urethane in order to help protect it from external elements like moisture and sunlight. After the stone is set, a hammered wire design was added using two different colors of Parawire (tarnish resistant coated copper wire) of bright silver and gold. Decorative silver plated tubes act as the bails for this particular piece. The wire designs are hand woven and hammered for slight texture and strength.
