This antique book is "Cobbin's Commentary on the Bible for Young and Old, Volume 1" by Rev. Ingram Cobbin and edited by Rev. E. J. Goodspeed. The volume was published by Selmar Hess, New York in 1876. It covers from Genesis through II Kings 2. The book has numerous high-quality full-page etchings including many from Gustave Dore and other artists of the day. It has 400 pages and measures 8.25" w x 11" h x 1.5" thick. The hardback book has half leather with pebble-grain boards, raised bands, gold gilt lettering and design on spine and marbled endpapers. There is a bindery ticket inside front cover. An excellent book with biblical information and much art!

The book is excellent condition for being 140+ years old: minimal wear to edgings; 4 pages at online front have water stains on the lower right corners; writing on front pages of various owners. Otherwise, no torn, missing or repaired parts. The hinges are tight and intact. It is odor free. Satisfaction guaranteed.
