"It began innocently enough, this love affair with clay – as a hobby in 1976 at the Minas Potters Guild in Wolfville, Nova Scotia where I also attended university. In 1980 it led me to an apprenticeship with Meat Cove Pottery at the far northern tip of Cape Breton. When that year drew to a close I returned to the Annapolis Valley, where my work in functional stoneware and porcelain has continued to this day. My present studio makes its home in the small village of Canning, en route to the Fundy shores of Blomidon and Scots Bay.
Thirty years of creating pots hasn't dampened my passion for functional pieces which are beautiful to the eye and a joy to use and hold. Though elements of my design have evolved over the course of this journey, I remain true to the form of slip painting loose leaf designs in soft blues, greens and browns." -Denise Aspinall online
