Vintage Franciscan "Apple" 20 Piece Dinnerware Set - Made in USA - 1941 to 1995 online

Franciscan Ceramics are ceramic tabletop and tile products produced by Gladding, McBean & Co. in Los Angeles, CA, from 1934–1962, International Pipe and Ceramics (Interpace) from 1962–1979, and Wedgwood from 1979-1983. Wedgwood closed the Los Angeles plant and moved dinnerware production to England in 1983 then Waterford Glass Group purchased Wedgwood in 1986, becoming Waterford Wedgwood. The Franciscan brand became part of a group of companies which continue to produce the Franciscan patterns "Desert Rose" and "Apple".

This Franciscan "Apple" 20 piece dinnerware set has a mix of manufacturing dates ranging from 1941 to 1995 as confirmed by the back stamps on each of the dinnerware pieces. All four dinner plates, two salad plates, all four bread plates, and all four saucers have the black "Hand Decorated-Oven Safe" mark which dates the plates between 1953 and 1958; two of the salad plates have the blue "Johnson Bros Made in England" logo which date the plates from 1995; and all four cups have "Made in USA" and/or numbers which dates the cups between 1941 and 1947. One salad plate from England and one bread plate each have a minor chip on the rim online (see photos) and one cup has glaze crazing (see photo) otherwise all 20 dinnerware pieces in this set are in good used condition with minor surface scratches due to use.

This 20 piece dinnerware set includes:

Four Dinner Plates measuring 10.5" in diameter and 1.0" tall
Four Salad Plates measuring 8.0" in diameter and 0.5" tall
Four Bread Plates measuring 6.25" in diameter and 0.5" tall
Four Saucers measuring 5.75" in diameter and 0.75" tall
Four Cups measuring 3.25" in diameter and 2.5" tall with a 2.0" diameter base

To ensure safety in shipping, the 20 piece dinnerware set will be securely packed in several cardboard boxes then packed in a larger box and shipped USPS Priority Mail which includes tracking and insurance. Extra insurance will be added to cover the full value of the dinnerware set.
