Artist Trudy King Evenson is a third-generation Western Montanan from a family which homesteaded in the Bitterroot in the early 1900s. Born in the Frenchtown Valley, and mainly raised in Missoula, she was always in the online mountains, on a lake, river, or on a horse. Trudy started drawing horses at age 5 for she loved her animals and was fascinated by their intelligence and grace. Always encouraged to study the arts, she started to dance at age 3 and piano at age 5 and continued until the age of 18. Trudy continued studying art throughout high school and later with many of the great Montana artists. Throughout her life, Trudy produced wildlife art that reflects their environment.
