Freya & Friends Chenille It Baby online Quilt

I love the little delicate prints in this Moda online line by Janet Clare called Freya & Friends. It has little delicate florals, stripes, little hexagons, and Irish chain prints in pink, blue, green, and cream. The fabric is 100 percent cotton.

The baby quilt measures 36” x 40” and is machine quilted. I have used chenille-it to give the quilt some texture. To get the chenille to “fluff” I have washed the quilt in a mild soap and machine dried it. In the dryer, is where the magic happens. The Chenille-It goes into the dryer like a bias tape and comes out looking like chenille.

I use Warm and White batting. It is an 80/20 blend and gives the quilt a flatter “old” feel. The backing has a cream background with a blue Irish Cain pattern. I love that it looks pieced but in reality is a single piece of fabric. I use a double-fold binding where it is sewn on the front by hand, flipped to the back, and then hand-stitched in place.
