Old cast iron L. Bailey Boston spoke shave with Bailey's Patent Aug 11 1858 impressed on the back arms. Original blade marked L. Bailey Boston. Leonard Bailey was a designer of tools starting in the 1850s and sold patents to the Stanley company until falling out with them in 1875. Bailey then went to work for another Bailey Tool Co. Retains the original eye screw to tighten the blade, which is often missing from those I'm finding online.

10 1/2" long and quite heavy for the size.

Unpolished, retains about 80% of the old black paint. There online is a swipe of white paint on one arm. I removed some light surface rust from the blade but it was pretty clean when I got it. Blade will need truing and sharpening.
