1944 Group Photo, Black & White, Sturtevant Company History, online Employee John Olson Milestone, Boston, Massachusetts History Salvage
This is a great vintage group photo from April 8, 1944. The occasion celebrates John Olson's 50 years working for B.F. Sturtevant Company, and the celebration was hosted at the Hotel Kenmore in Boston, Massachusetts. The Sturtevant company was founded in 1860 and was America's first fan company, and it later branched out to manufacture industrial air cooling and ventilation systems. The company ceased operating in 1989, when it was absorbed into Westinghouse. Not one woman in the photo. The photo was taken online by Fry Foto of Boston. The black and white photo has aged into a sepia color. The wood frame has been painted silver and is in fair to good condition. The frame shows wear and nicks and abrasions, and the photo is clear and crisp with a little fading on the upper part. The frame measures about 19 3/4" by 10 3/4" by 3/4" and the back is wired so this is ready to hang.
