Set/3 TINTED LITHOGRAPH Plates ~ USPRR online Railroad Survey 35th Parallel Topo Report ~ Circa 1860
For your consideration is a set of 3 tinted lithograph plates which were from the USPRR Railroad Surveys Top Report. They are as follows:
1) Rio Colorado Near The Mojave Villages. View No 111. From the right bank looking East. Drawn by JJ Young from a sketch by A.H. Campbell. Lith. of Sarony, Major & Knapp, New York.
2) View Of The Black Forest Mount Hope And Sierra Prieta. Looking S.W. from Topographical Hill. E. Stout from a sketch by A.H. Campbell. Lith. of Sarony & Co. New York.
3) Bivouac January, 28. J.C. Tidball, U S online A. Lith. of Sarony, Major & Knapp, New York.
At the top of each litho it states “USPRR Ex. & Surveys 35th Parallel Top Report”
Each one measures 11 ½” x 8 ½” and the litho themselves are 8 5/8” x 5 ¾”..
The condition of these has scattered foxing and staining which is more prominent on the 3rd one (Bivouac).
A nice set that would look great matted and framed for a pictorial history display…
