Cardinal birds began to appear in upper parts of Michigan as logging big trees began in the 1880's and trains cleared the way for ground feeding birds.

I online did a few sketches of new birds coming to our backyard feeder. Cardinals are a rare sighting for us. So, it was a special day to see the stunning red bird while I watched the sunrise one day.
