This curious creature has a core online body using an old 6 inch Griswald stove pipe damper and has parts added using a flue handle, typewriter parts and stainless steel silverware. His typewriter bell hat still rings! All the welds have been cleaned and smoothed. The sculpture has been signed, dated and clear coated.
These steal creatures like to rest on fireplace mantles, window sills, shelves, counter tops or any place where they can draw attention to themselves.
In fact, CBS contacted me a couple years ago and bought 22 of them to use as props in their TV show, "Elementary". You can see them in season 6, episode 12, "Meet your maker". They are scattered around the apartment by the window and on the tables. The bugs were very proud of that one. The bug listed here is one of the remaining choices from the lot that CBS did not choose for the episode.
They also makes a great garden addition, though expect the outdoor environment to weather the piece over time.
