This beautiful and rare shallow bowl or dish is from the 1930s and is either Czech or French. None of my glass experts has been able to identify.
It's very high quality, with a polished and beveled edge online and great detail. It features 3 scallop shells, which serve as the bowl's "feet," surrounded by sea weed and other oceanic life. The back side is acid etched to a velvety, satin frosted finish.
Condition is excellent... I can find no damage, other than a tiny bit of wear to the "face up" side of the glass (the shiny side)... maybe somebody used it to store their keys, jewelry or coins, which can lightly scratch the glass over the years.
The bowl is about 5.75" across x 1.5" tall. It glows brightly under UV light.
It looks great in place, as well in a plate holder... don't wait on this one!
