Product code: Victorian online Silver Atlantic Cable Thimble Circa 1860
This thimble is commonly referred to as the "Atlantic Cable Thimble'. The original silver thimble was used to pass a current through the 1866 Transatlantic cable. That thimble is now in London's Science Museum.
This thimble is in good condition however does have dents and one hole on its dotted section. It is unmarked, an exact thimble to this but with no condition issues sold for $336.00 through a reputable London antiques dealer.
