Every piece of wood is hand selected and crafted to display the finest qualities of which nature created. The sides of every urn are crafted from a single piece of solid wood that is mitered to create the desirable book matched look, which carries the grain and figure around to all four sides. Species of wood for this urn include the following: Top includes a Myrtle Wood picture frame surrounding the Figured Black Walnut center piece, while the sides are wrapped in Black Walnut and the bottom complements the top picture frame with Myrtle Wood as well. This urn opens from the bottom via four wood screws.

Suitable for up to 50 lbs pre-cremation weight.

Sources in the funerary industry state that one pound of human or pet weight equals one cubic inch of cremated remains. If a person weighs 150 pounds, expect to receive about 150 cubic inches of ashes; or 10.5 cups. Cremated remains generally weigh between 3-7 pounds.

This particular cremation urn is sized as an urn for human ashes, but may also be used as a pet urn if you so choose or we can craft a more appropriate sized keepsake for your pet's trip across the Rainbow Bridge.
