I love using white clay bodies as canvases for bright glaze colors that move and flow. The opaque colors break in and on top of clear glaze colors creating a 3-D effect.

I threw these pieces by hand on the wheel with b-mix cone 5 porcelain/stoneware blend clay, attached handles and then fired them to about 1888 degrees F in an electric kiln.
The glazes are applied online and layered by hand using a dipping and/or painting method and then the pieces are fired again to about 2163 degrees F. At that temperature, the clay vitrifies and the glaze becomes glass.
It takes about 11 hours to reach the final glaze temperature and another 24 hours for the kiln to cool.
