Vintage 1900s Linen (heavy) Sheet which has hand embroidery of a monogram in Pink silk at the header.
It's been stored for many years but never used, and is still nicely thick, crisp and stiff with "size" and of an oatmeal colour.
Above this is a row of .5cm wide band of embroidered piping on a double hem.
This is one stunningly beautiful sheet. Originally they would have been used as both a bed sheet or a bathing sheet. These were placed into the copper bath tub to protect the bather from the heat of the fires underneath.
It measures;
Width; 84”
Length; 108”
The embroidered Monogram is 4” deep (11cm)
The outer edges are loom finished. The top and bottom hems are hand stitched please note the storage mark to the left side of the monogram
It would make an excellent bed sheet, sham, coverlet or a warm curtain lining online for a boutique bedroom.
These sheets look equally well as a drape, a door curtain or window blind, due in part to their weight, thickness and stiffening.
The fabric weighs a tad over 1.5k
