Antique European Madonna and Child online Chalkware Figurine - Free Shipping - [#170 - DC 3rd R]

Antique European Madonna and Child Chalkware Figurine was originally owned by my grandmother Cornelia Garcia, a wedding present from my grandfather. My mother (90) remembers the delicate and beautiful figurine sitting on a shelf in her mother's bedroom when she was a child. The actual age of the figurine is unknown. The base of the figurine measures 7 1/2 inches by 2 7/8 inches and stands 8 1/2 inches tall. The figurine is hand-painted in flesh and blue iridescent tones. The features of the face of the Madonna and child are very delicate. The base has an applied but very old felt pad. There is a tiny chip on the left side of the blue veil and one on the backside of the figurine which are visible in the photos, a few very fine hairline cracks on the surface of the veil and gown and the halo/crown has had a repair some time in the past. Otherwise, the figurine is in sound vintage condition with a lovely patina. The perfect gift for any Mother or Mother to be.
