The coliseum opened in 1966 as Rebel Coliseum. In 2001 the wooden seats were replaced with navy blue upholstered seats.

Tad Smith Coliseum is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Mississippi. From 1966 to 2016 the coliseum was home to the University of Mississippi Rebels men's and women's basketball teams .Tad Smith Coliseum was replaced by The Pavilion at Ole Miss. in 2016.
