This is an original painting (not a print) by well known comic artist and illustrator Harry Bishop (1920-2015). It is signed by the artist. It looks to be watercolour with some pencils.
The image area is approx 11 x 7.75 inches (28 x 20cm). The picture including the border of the frame mount is slightly more than 17x14.5 inches (44 x 36 cm).
The current pictures are scans and do not show the whole of the picture mount as it was too big for my A3 scanner. I will add a photo of the whole thing shortly.
When I acquired this it was in its original heavy frame behind glass. At the back of the frame were some sheets from a local newspaper dated 1999, so it seems likely that the painting was created before this date. I am selling this without the heavy, glazed frame because it had a small chip in one corner, and also because sending art in heavy glazed frames can be difficult and expensive. However, if you want the original frame this can be provided (it seems like the frame may have been provided by the artist himself, as I have seen other of his paintings sold at art auctions in similar frames, online and similar mounting boards).
The art will be sent in a protective sleeve and flat packed between stiff sheets of foam board and/or cardboard. However, if you have additional packing requests, or you would prefer to collect the item yourself (from Central London), please feel free to email me.
