A scarce Victorian book on traversing the rivers of Illinois and Wisconsin in its original beautifully designed binding with cover design by Frank Hazenplug (‘H' monogram in bottom left corner). The binding consists of green cloth covered boards with dark green and bright gold gilt stamped pictorial decorations and title/author lettering along the front cover and spine. Title and author lettering in bright gold gilt also along the front cover and spine.
Size:
Approx. 5" over by 7-1/2" tall
Condition:
Very good+. The exterior has been well maintained over the years with minimal wear to the corners of the cover boards and spine ends. The binding is tight and with the exception of the original owner's bookplate and later owner's name on the front end papers, the interior pages are clean and online unmarked throughout.
