online Ancient Comb - 10th-12th century woman's amulet from Zemgale, (south of) Latvia.
Pagan Mideaval protective amulet, also combs were practical everyday accessory.

Legend has it - that if a devil was chasing a young girl (wanting to marry her), she could escape by throwing the comb over her shoulder. A big, dense forest grew out of the comb and the devil couldn't reach her anymore.
