A great couple of pieces of Pennsylvania Dutch Redware Pottery. A great example of sgraffito. Both plates are 7". The design is done on a Yellow Slip with a Green Copper Glaze Accent. The 1st plate is the North Heidelberg Church 1744-1994. This plate is signed: Breininger Pottery Robesonia, PA January 4, 1995 Sunny & Cold The 2nd is for the 150 Anniversary for Lower Heidelberg TWP PA 1842-1992. This plate is signed: LHT-150yrs Breininger Pottery EB 1992 PA Breininger creates his designs by online applying slurry of different clay compositions onto redware, a technique known as slip-tralling. Breininger Pottery was in business from 1965 to 2011 in Robesonia Pennsylvania. The pieces were almost always signed and included the weather for the day the item was made. Please view all Photos.
