Vintage 1970s || 'Day Tripper' || online Chartreuse Dress with Turquoise & Bronze Screen-Printed Paisley Pattern || by Alfred Shaheen || Large
online This lovely Nehru-collared dress is a vivid chartreuse and features a ornate, psychedelic-inflected screen-printed paisley pattern. The print is rendered with white and turquoise ink with shimmering metallic peacock and bronze accents. The sleeves are made of a sheer, slubby fabric interwoven with subtle reflective thread for some extra sparkle. Unique offset button-and-loop front closure. The matching sash belt adds some structure to the relatively loose-cut silhouette.
Superb vintage condition. The print is in excellent condition and virtually free from cracking or fading. There are a handful of very minor runs in the sheer sleeves (pictured), which are scarcely noticeable due to the texture of the fabric.
Branded Alfred Shaheen, the designer best known for the modern Hawaiian shirt, but who also was an innovator of dyes and textile printing. 89% polyester, 9% nylon.
