Arthropod online Motif Glazed Ceramic Female Figure with Red Front

One-of-a-kind glazed ceramic figure with a red front and arthropod decal. Handbuilt with white clay, the piece is fired in 3 stages. The first firing at cone 05 (1870°F) which sets the clay body to bisque state, where then both red and clear glazes are applied; second firing at cone 5 (2160°F) to mature the clay and glaze finish; lastly, firing at cone 018 (1267°F) to set the arthropod decal.

The colored section of this piece symbolizes one's power within. The red stands for strength, energy, and passion, while the decal simply expresses a love for arthropods. But what I particularly love is how the red bleeds into the clear glaze, expressing a fun play on the bite of a mosquito.

This little beauty pairs nicely with little potted plants, picture frames, or other sculptures. She can also beautifully stand alone on any shelf, coffee table, side table, desk, windowsill or nightstand.

Rinse under running water (do not scrub) and pat dry with cloth.
