Vintage Wedgwood online Covered Butter Dish Edme Off White Farmhouse Kitchen Or Dining Room Decor Repaired Piece
Vintage Wedgwood Creamware Covered Butter Dish With Ironstone Insert Edme Pinecone Finial Off White Farmhouse Kitchen Or Dining Room Decor REPAIRED
PLEASE NOTE: the bottom dish had a nick in the side which I repaired with epoxy to protect it and keep it from chipping further. see pic #6 & 7. (The repair on the back looks better in person than it does in the pictures).
When I find something with a chip and that piece still has a lot of life left in it, I repair it. The repair is to protect it from further damage and to help it look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It is never my intent to hide a flaw. Please look carefully at the pictures and feel free to ask for more photos. This is sold AS IS and is therefore not returnable. There is clear crazing and some spots of discoloration as well.
Measures 4 1/2" h x 7 1/2" w. A lovely piece of Wedgwood Creamware in the Edme shape, elegant pinecone finial on the cover. There is an ironstone strainer or drain insert. I'm not sure if it is original to the piece (it seems a little whiter in tone)? but I am included it as it came to me with it in place.
"The stylized, embossed ribbing of the elegant Wedgwood Edme design is reminiscent of the ridges of a clam shell, harking back to Josiah Wedgwood's love of shell collecting."--replacements.com
Love this quote: "Ironstone pieces are survivors, their resilience tells their story, minor discoloration only seems to add to their patina and beauty."--https://frenchgardenhouse.com
I try very hard to accurately describe and photograph any flaws but I am only human and on occasion may miss something. Please forgive me if that is the case! Condition of vintage items is somewhat subjective, what doesn't bother me might bother someone else. if you have any questions about a particular item in our shop feel free to reach out before purchasing or after you've bought something.
A WORD ABOUT SHIPPING
I spend a great deal of time making sure that all items are properly packaged before I ship them. I ship using the United States Post Office most of the time. The post office recently updated their policy for damage claims. The shop owner can no longer open a claim using just photos. If a piece is received damaged or broken it is a SHIPPING claim. It is the responsibility of the buyer to initiate a claim with the shipping carrier (i,e, online. USPS). I will do whatever I can to assist the buyer in starting a claim.
I am not able to give refunds for broken items. Contact your local post office directly (they will probably ask you to bring the broken, damaged item to your nearest post office for confirmation on a claim). This will yield quicker results for you. Your tracking number (provided by Etsy once I've created a label) is visible online under your purchase info.
There are shipping delays worldwide and while I have had very few issues overall, I cannot do anything to retrieve, find or track a package other than what you can do yourself. Once it is in the hands of the USPS all I can do is direct you on how to file an inquiry.
