This Amber Glass pedestal bowl is made by the Viking Glass Company in the 1960s. It is part of the very popular "Epic" line of glassware that became iconic in Mid Century Modern households across the US. It is called a "Compote", which was originally designed to online serve jelly or fruit in a formal breakfast setting. In more modern times, it is used as a succulent pot, a candy dish, a flower bowl for a table centerpiece, a pillar candle base, or a unique catch-all for keys and rings.
