Dating this astonishing (homespun?) linen shirt is not easy, but somewhere around 1900-1930, but maybe even earlier! Partly hand sewed, partly by a handdriven sewingmachine. The shirt include a deep split in front, down the middle. With Initials GHS. The former owner told me it was made in Twente, the Easten part of the Netherlands were textile industry was located. It was made for a man and probably sewn by a house seamstress or the lady of the house herself. It is neatly manufactured. Unfortunately I do know more about the origin.
Full linen, with cotton finishing strap in the neck.
Good condition! It looks like it's never has been worn.
