Vintage online Perpetual Calendar Desk Calendar 1960s Vintage. Silver tone Calendar on Black Base 'The Smugglers Snuff'
A very stylish vintage perpetual desk calendar with dials to spin day, both digits of the date and month. The calendar is made from metal of a silver colour, the barrel of octagonal shape with engine turned decoration to 3 faces, and it stands on a shiny black plastic-type (Lucite?) base, it would look fantastic on any desk or table.
Would say it dates from the early 1960s.
It bears an inscription to a Chairman 1959-61 of 'The Smugglers Snuff'.
A little research shows this to be a small nightclub set up in the Sussex village of Ditchling (home to the late Dame Vera Lynn) - read more about the club by scrolling to the 'Ditchling's Night Club' section of this page:

The base measures 15cm (6 inches) wide by 5cm (2 inches) deep and it stands 4.5cm (2 inches) high.
It weighs 240g (8½ oz).
The calendar dials all work well and condition overall is good vintage condition, with a few marks here and there as to be expected for an item of this vintage, but overall it is a good vintage example.
This would have looked fantastic gracing a desk back in the mid 20th century, and now it could grace yours...
