This is a nice collection of four early works by HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW (including a 1st edition of "Kavanagh"), as follows:

* The Courtship of Miles Standish and Other Poems (1859; Ticknor and Fields; Boston; With a 16-page publisher's catalog dated November, 1858 at the front)
* The Song of Hiawatha (1859; Ticknor and Fields; Boston; With a "Notes" and a "Vocabulary" section at the back)
* Kavanagh - A Tale (1849 1st edition; Ticknor, Reed, and Fields; Boston; With a 4-page publisher's catalog dated May 1, 1849 at the front)
* Outre-Mer - A Pilgrimage Beyond the Sea (1855; Ticknor and Fields; Boston; With a 12-page publisher's catalog dated January, 1856 at the back)

Condition:
Overall a nice collection. All volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. HIAWATHA - great condition both inside and out with no notable issues found. KAVANAGH - cloth pieces missing at the top of the spine; 8 pages at the front have the same name written in ink and the date 1849; "381" stamped in ink on the rear end paper; nice pages with occasional foxing; the cloth has faded along the perimeter of the covers and spine; small cloth tears at the corners. OUTRE-MER - 1/2" split at the top-right corner of the spine; tiny cloth tears at the corners; name/date (1876) written in pen on the front end paper; very nice pages with only some very sparse foxing found. MILES STANDISH - light stain at the right edge of the front cover; tiny cloth tears at the corners; light fraying to the top and bottom edges of the spine; very nice pages with only some light foxing to some random pages online (though heavier foxing on the front end paper; bookplate affixed to the front pastedown.
